Large rural family garden

This large rural garden near Wivelsfield in Sussex is beautifully situated but has been under-used and neglected. The new owner wanted to create a (reasonably) low priced and low maintenance design that could evolve as her children became teenagers. I provided a design and consultancy for a transformation that could be undertaken in stages, over two years. The homeowner managed the budget and the family did most of the work themselves. I was available for guidance and moral support! The end result is a garden that fits its location beautifully and gets a lot of use by the whole family, year round. A great success.
INNOVATIONS. Hard-core rabbit proofing using dug-down chickenwire! And timber-effect concrete planks as stepping-stones. Not as slippery as wood.

No hard path to the hot-tub. Sun deck too small.
Fence line not secure. Rabbits graze freely!
The shed is useful. The chairs are a bit disturbing.
